- INTRODUCING "MULTI-LEVEL-WARE"
-
- The software distributed along with this documentation is copyrighted
- material, and the author of it retains ownership, along with the right to
- dictate the terms under which it may be used or distributed. This software may
- be used and distributed according to the terms set forth in this document.
-
- This software is distributed under the concept of "shareware", but with a
- novel twist. A recurrent problem with "shareware" is that many users neglect
- to forward the requested fee to the author of the software. An attempt has
- been made here to provide an incentive to users to register this software, and
- also to reward distributors for their efforts of distribution.
-
- This software is distributed under the concept of "Multi-Level
- Marketing." This concept is not new, but it is an extremely powerful method of
- distribution. Under this concept, users of a product may also become
- distributors of it. They receive commissions as distributors not only from
- their own distribution activities, but also from the activities of those who
- become distributors beyond them as a result of their efforts.
-
- It might be useful to think of this concept as a "tree". The user who
- becomes a distributor is the "root". The users to whom he distributes are the
- "leaves". As these other users then become distributors in their own right,
- they become "branches" with leaves of their own. As the tree grows, the
- potential earnings of the "root" distributor also grow.
-
- This concept has the potential of making astounding amounts of money for
- you! Let's use a few figures as examples. Please understand that these are
- examples ONLY. Your own performance might not be as good as these, or on the
- other hand it might even be BETTER! (But the sooner you act, the better it is
- likely to be than if you wait!) If you are a Class 1 distributor (more about
- this later) and the average performance of everyone in your tree is 8 user
- registrations, you will have 8 people in your first level (returning you $24),
- 64 people in your second level (returning you $128), 512 people in your third
- level (returning you $1024), and 4096 people in your fourth level (returning
- you $12,288, for a grand total of $13,464).
-
- On the other hand, let's suppose that there are 8 user registrations in
- your first level (returning $24), and that performance dwindles to an average
- of 6 user registrations per distributor on the second level, so that you have
- 48 in your second level (returning $96). Performance further dwindles to an
- average of 4 on the third level, giving you 192 user registrations (returning
- $384); and performance finally dwindles to an average of 2 on the fourth level,
- giving you 768 user registrations (returning $2304). Your final total in this
- hypothetical situation would be $2808. In our humble opinion, this is a rather
- pessimistic scenario. Remember, there are millions of computers and users out
- there which are capable of running this program.
-
- In this particular application, the user's registration fee has been set
- at $20 (there is also a nominal charge for shipping and handling). But fully
- half of the user's registration fee is set aside to be returned to previous
- registered users or distributors over as many as four levels. There are
- actually 2 classes of distributors in this particular plan.
-
- A Class 1 distributor will receive $3 of every user registration of a
- copy that bears his unique identification number. This is the first level.
- The Class 1 distributor will receive $2 from copies that bear a number
- belonging to someone who registered a copy bearing his number. This is the
- second level. He will receive $2 from copies with numbers from someone on his
- second level. This is the third level. And, finally, he will receive $3 from
- copies which bear numbers from someone on his third level. This is the fourth
- level.
-
- Those who register as users of this software are automatically entered as
- Class 1 distributors in this plan (though they are under no obligation to
- distribute). But this plan also accommodates those who do not wish to register
- as users. Those persons may register as a Class 2 distributors. There is a
- nominal processing fee of $5 for a Class 2 distributor. The processing fee is
- to meet office expenses, and no portion of it is returned to previous
- distributors. Class 2 distributors will receive $3 overrides for every user
- registration of copies of the program which bear their identification number.
- There is no multi-level payment plan for Class 2 distributors.
-
- Class 2 distributors are upgraded to Class 1 distributors in the event
- that 10 (ten) user registrations are received on copies bearing their own
- unique registration numbers in any single month. A single month, as the term
- is used here, is understood to mean the period of time from the first calendar
- day of a given month to the last calendar day. The single month period cannot
- straddle two different calendar months. (It should go without saying that the
- calendar used here is the calendar in common usage in the U.S.A.)
-
- Registered users are counted as being in the "tree" of Class 1
- distributors who have them in them in their second, third, or fourth level,
- even though there may be (non-user) Class 2 distributors in intervening levels.
- Credit is given to Class 1 distributors for user registration fees which come
- in from second, third, and fourth level user registrations where there is a
- Class 2 distributor in an intervening level.
-
- Credit for the distribution of software in this particular application is
- assigned to a particular individual on the basis of a UNIQUE identification
- number which appears on the software itself, and also on the included order
- forms.
-
- IMPORTANT! If you intend to register and distribute this software, DO
- NOT distribute the copy you received from someone else (otherwise someone else
- will receive credit for the distribution and not you). Each copy carries its
- own unique identification number which is assigned to a particular registrant.
- Once you register the software, you will receive your own copy which will bear
- an identification number uniquely assigned to you. It is copies of this copy
- which you must distribute in order to receive credit for your distribution
- efforts.

- TERMS
-
- The "Cube" programs (CUBE.EXE, RCUBE.EXE, MCUBE.EXE, AND SCUBE.EXE) are
- copyrighted material, and represent the product of the intellectual efforts of
- the author. The author maintains ownership of the programs. However, the
- author has extended permission to the general public to distribute and use
- these programs under the following conditions:
-
- 1. These programs must be distributed as a complete set with all
- accompanying documentation and auxiliary files as listed in the file
- PACKING.LST, which is also an accompanying file.
-
- 2. The files must be distributed on a single disk, or else archived into a
- single archive file. Copies which are to be transmitted over
- telecommunications networks and/or posted to computerized "BBS's" or
- other distribution media must be archived. The archiving program used
- must restore the original date and time stamps to the extracted files,
- and must also restore them to their original size.
-
- 3. No modification is permitted to any of the files which are a part of this
- package.
-
- 4. In order to receive credit for distribution activities, and to receive
- remuneration for copies registered by users as set forth elsewhere in
- this document, one must be registered a registered distributor. Your
- copy of your registration form, which is returned to you with our
- acknowledgement is your proof of your status as a registered Class 1 or
- Class 2 distributor. You will be sent notification from us in the event
- that you are upgraded from a Class 2 distributor to a Class 1
- distributor, and this notification will serve as proof your status.
-
- 5. Permission to use these programs is granted for a period of 1 (one) week
- after initial receipt of the programs without paying the requisite user
- registration fee. After this period, you must either a) register as a
- user by paying the requisite registration fee; b) register as a Class 2
- distributer by paying the required processing fee; c) maintain a copy
- which will be used for distribution purposes ONLY (with the understanding
- that as an unregistered distributor you will receive no compensation
- whatsoever from us); or d) delete or give away whatever copies of the
- program you may have in your possession.
-
- 6. Registered distributors (whether Class 2 or upgraded to Class 1) who have
- not paid the user registration fee only have permission to distribute the
- program or to demonstrate it to other potential users. They do NOT have
- permission to use the program for their own purposes unless they pay the
- required user registration fee. Registered distributors who later choose
- to register as users receive no discount for registering as users, but
- must pay the full user registration fee. Upon payment of the user
- registration fee, Class 2 distributors who have not been upgraded become
- Class 1 distributors.
-
- 7. Registered users who have paid the user registration fee may use this
- program for as long as they consider the program to be useful. They also
- have the option of distributing the program under the terms set forth for
- Class 1 distributors, though there is no requirement that they do so.
-
- 8. Commercial services which distribute user-supported software on floppy
- disks may distribute this software as long as these conditions are met:
- a) This software is distributed in archived form, with the archive
- meeting the conditions set forth in #2 above. b) It is made clear to
- their customers, either in writing, or in information contained in a
- separate computer text file on the disk which they sell, that there is a
- charge for registering as users of this software apart from the price
- which they pay for the disk which contains the software. If the
- information is in an additional file on the disk, that file must be a
- separate file from the archive containing the software. c) The fee
- charged by the service for providing the software may not exceed $10
- (ten) U.S. dollars. d) Such services may register with us at their
- option, but they are not required to do so. If such services elect to
- register with us, they will be compensated according to the same schedule
- as any other registrant. The registration form they submit must be
- signed by an officer who has the authority to sign on behalf of the
- company.
-
-
- SUMMARY
-
- To recapitulate, those who are registered as Class 1 distributors will
- receive 15% of the $20 user registration fee on the first level, 10% of the fee
- on the second level, 10% of the fee on the third level, and 15% of the fee on
- the fourth level. Those who are registered as Class 2 distributors will
- receive 15% of the $20 user registration fee sent in on copies of the program
- which bear their own identification number only. Class 2 distributors will be
- upgraded to Class 1 distributors after 10 (ten) user registrations are received
- on copies of the program which bear their own identification number.
-
- The tree will obviously continue to grow beyond four levels, but the
- participation of individuals is limited to four levels because of the
- configuration of the return plan -- 50% over 4 levels. An individual may only
- register one time only as a user or as a Class 2 distributor. Those who
- register as Class 2 distributors may later register as users if they wish by
- submitting the user registration fee. (Credit for them as users will be
- assigned to the distributor under whose identification number they originally
- registered as Class 2 distributors.) The $5 processing fee sent in by those
- who wish to become Class 2 distributors is devoted to office and filing
- expenses, and is not counted in determining the amount to be paid back to
- previous distributors.
-
-
- ACT NOW!!!
-
- As you can see, the "tree" grows wider with every level. We cannot
- predict how wide each level will grow, because the width is dependent upon the
- independent actions of various individuals. If you see fit to register this
- program, it is in your interest to do so as early as you can. It is also in
- your interest that, once registered, for you to distribute it as widely as you
- can, and to distribute it to individuals who are likely to also register it and
- distribute it widely themselves.
-
- This software must be registered on the basis of its own intrinsic value
- only, and regardless of any potential return which you perceive will accrue on
- future registrations. But you must act quickly. There will come a time when
- the market will become heavily saturated, and further registrations will become
- harder to obtain. This is the nature of the market. The value of referrals
- diminishes as the level of saturation increases.
-
- Please use the appropriate included registration form (either the file
- REGISTER.FRM, or DISTRIB.FRM) to register as either a user or as a Class 2
- distributor. Make sure to fill in all the requested information on the form.
- Also be sure you understand the terms set forth in this document. Once you
- register this software, a new copy bearing your own unique registration number
- will be sent to you. We will also send back a copy of your signed registration
- form, with our acknowledgement of the date of receipt and our mark of
- acceptance.
-
- Commission checks will be mailed out the 10th of each month representing
- registrations received the previous month. Listings of registered users in
- your "tree", and their distribution performance will be made available to you
- upon request at a charge of $0.15/page plus $2.00 handling plus postage.
- (There will be an additional charge for listings too large to send through
- normal mail channels.)
